I had to do some work under the dash board which required the removal of the pedal box ( bugger of a job when your over 70!) . I am now refitting it all after a couple of weeks and I'm struggling to understand how the switch assembly is fixed to operate when the brake pedal is depressed. The switch assembly bolts on to the pedal box frame but can't figure out the orientation for the switch to operate. A photo of an in-service one would help me enormously. Photo of swich attached.

Hi,
The switch as I understand it works the following way.
Pedal in rest position the switch plunger is pushed in thus breaking the circuit.
As you press the pedal the plunger is released thus completing the circuit allowing the break lights to come on.
In Stuart's top photo you can see that the switch is above the brake pedal thus allowing the above actions to take place.
