Good morning all, I’looking for a replacement gear selector cable for a 1969 mini auto. Most places say the part is obsolete now. Does anyone know of a replacement and where to buy one please ?

Thank you

Tony

A bit of background:

The mini engine and gear box is fitted to a 7 1/4 gauge locomotive built in 1973. The engine and gearbox are currently undergoing an overhaul, unfortunately the cable snapped on removal. We are a volunteer group running a small railway through the gardens of a stately home.

Also maybe worth asking and searching for any info on the 'Automatic Mini Register' forum linked below.

Also try below as many members have early 1960/70's obsolete Mini spares including for automatics.

What about trying someone like Speedy Cables to get one made up bespoke-

If not you will have to keep an eye on ebay, but then you are buying something that is fairly old to start with.

Listed below by 'The Little Car Company' in Netherlands?

22A2217:-

This later type cable is currently out of stock at Minisport but I don't know if it is compatible with earlier auto box?

If you can't find one, you can get one made up since you have the remains of the old one.

That one is incompatible. The transmission end on the 90s transmissions isn't threaded like the earlier ones.

Every other version should work fine, there's just a few different lengths but since it's not in a mini it likely won't matter.
