My Flercher radiator on my stage 3 1293 is doing it's job for a couple of years. Not had a single problem. Even when towing my little caravan the temperature is staying low.

fan looks correct but have you removed and tested the thermostat? also can't tell from pics what size is top pulley should be small one, as nicklouse says i don't get the hype around alloy rads, alloy less efficient than brass is it just weight from a racing point of view if using large radiators. Fitted one to gf's car for underbonnet looks but mine is a 1340 cooper s lump and fine on 4 core minispares unit even in traffic. Also noticed from pics is the heater valve connected? and does the heater get hot? if not it is airlocked.

Lovely looking car though jealous

,,,,,,, i don't get the hype around alloy rads,,,,,,,

They are bling and they are cheap. After that, there's nothing going for them.

Modern cars have them. They are also overly big for their normal work cycle. They cost less.

A lot of moderns have plastic headers and rad bases to hold the core.

'Moderns' are designed from the outset to run with them and as for them plastic headers - YUK ! They split so easy !  Cheap and very nasty.

If you suspect that your Mini is overheating, the first question is 'does it blow steam out of the rad cap pressure relief pipe'?

If not, then the net thig to do is to fit a capillary type temp gauge to see what the actual temperatures are. My 'S' appeared to overheat, despite having a 2-core radiator and aux fan, but when I fitted a capillary gauge it was actually running at around 85 to 90 C going up to just over 100 C on hot days and hard driving, which is fine.

No steam.

Thanks for the tip re: the gauge.  I may try that.

Thanks for all the posts, comments and tips.

I've been working in Germany and got back late that night.
