I hope you remove it when you have back seat passengers, as it might cause a nasty injury in a crash!

You could really go to town with this.
Wing mirrors, bonnet catch, rear view mirror etc

I guess I must have longs arms. I just open and close mine with my hand.

I don't think I am built like an orangutan... but same here!

I can do both while driving. The passenger side is more difficult - but doable - in an empty street. (I would not do it in traffic!)

I do love the tool however. It even looks the part!

The blokes at the pub always reckoned I had short arms and long pockets anyway. ;-)

The outcome of this was to be able to open and close the rear window from the drivers seat. Before I applied the KISS principal and made the extension handle I toyed with the idea of motorizing them. But the commercially available product is overpriced, has many compromises and did not suit my needs. I worked for a short while on making my own and this idea is still on the backburner.

Very clever!

I still can't work out how to keep mine open, they both rattle shut within a mile.

Mine used to self close as well. You can squeeze the middle hinge with pliers or multigrips to tighten the catch.

I think the weight of the glass must throw the catch out when you corner, then it's 50-50 which way it folds when the wind blows them back in.
