Hazards should work with or without the ignition key. Indicators should work with the ignition on only.

Have you looked to see what the indicators are actually doing on the outside? Fuse box connections would be the easiest place to mess up.  Fitting the hazard switch connector upside down is possible too. It might do some of that.

Hi

Sorry might be confusing

Hazards work ok , with and without engine running , indicators only work when key turned on , as soon as engine is on , the indicators dont work .

regards

So the hazards work as they should.

Do the indicators work with the ignition light on, before the engine starts?

What's happening when the engine's running? The flasher unit can be sensitive to current & resistance, so look at all four (or six) lights. Are the lights on the dash doing anything?  Try the lot, illumination, high beam... do the ignition & oil light go out when the engine starts?

Check what is printed on the flasher units.

Basically

21w x 4..... is for hazard lights.. as in 4 lights on all at same time.
21w x 2 +5w ... is for indicators... as in 2 lights on each side at one time...

While it is most likely to be a fault in the indicator unit itself, I'd suggest also measuring the volts at the battery with the engine running. Because if the alternator regulator has failed, it may be producing over-volts output, and the failure of the indicators could - just perhaps - be a symptom of this.

Over-volts would kill the battery, as well as causing rapid bulb failures, so best to rule it out. As I say, it's an unlikely cause but worth a check.
