Back in the early 1970s, BL cars moved away from the paper cartridge type, to the spin on oil filter. No more messy hands and playing around with sealing rings. Now though, manufacturers are moving back to cartridges and sealing rings. They must take longer to change, so what's the reason behind the change? Is it some form of environmental legislation?

Really? canister spin on oil filters are not that expensive. Surely the labour costs more? Hubs are pre-supplied with bearings fitted rather than replacing just the bearings. Weird.

Much the same reason as we have EV’s, it’s a misguided approach to saving the planet.
