I had the chance to look at this car yesterday, and Im interested in it.

I know it doesnt look like the factory early morris and im certainly not concerned about that. The owner dressed it as a Cooper. The engine is a Cooper S with a Calver ST head adn a 3:44 box. What I am concerned about is the floors and the sills (they look flat without drains, but I have no knowledge of how they came out of the factory in 1961). I dont know early cars that well, so I am looking for some advice here. The car feels solid, it needs some suspension work for sure. its not used often.

I can see some sort of texture under the paint, what are your thoughts? Boot wheel arch seem to have also some sort of texture that I am unsure what it is.

Early Minis up to about 1961 had flat outer sills which were part of the floor, with separate inner sill panels (the sill panel joint was reversed in later Minis to the outside with drain vents, due to water leaks under the carpets). However the early type flat sills with no drain vents to the outside often rusted less and some were foam filled at the factory or Dealer to fix the water leak problems.
