Help

Have just bought some old stock new Ultra Jewel lenses for the rear of my mini.  When they arrived there was not any of the red inserts included in the box. I have spoken to the seller and he explained he has found them but one is broken.  He did suggest using red bulbs but I am asking does any one have the inserts for sale.  If so can they can contact me via email kevin.shaw4@sky.com

Isn't the red insert a reflector needed by law so a red bulb wouldn't suffice.?

How badly broken is it? Can it not be superglued as it won't really be seen inside the lens?

I can't believe the prices these things go for, I'm surprised they haven't been put back into production.

I think they look great and I have fitted the red reflectors so keeping in the law.  LED bulbs so bright far better than conventual bulbs but only my opinion purists might not agree.

I saw these going up in price as NLA and  thought I would cash in and sell mine on Ebay - they made 30 quid last year; about what I paid for them.......! >_<

Not sour grapes but I think clear lenses on minis are a bit passé now - a bit noughties, think bootcut jeans; now if someone could develop red lenses that showed amber indicators (and preferably with a smaller reverse light) a bit more on trend I would say and I'd be in.

Just to show I wasn't immune, I had jewel lenses on one mini and "ordinary clear" on the other so I was also caught up with the fashion not saying it wasn't a thing back then and not saying I wasn't trying to be on trend  - both on standard amber-red-clear now (and I got rid of my bootcut jeans a few years back also !)

Also to show I'm not a total purist,  my new project has grey smoked lenses......so there you go  - no idea where I'd get a replacement if I break one though?

Yeah but not able to show amber indicators plus I like Mk4 lights to put the fog light in the reverse light (yes I know its not legal.....)

I'm in a minority liking Mk4 lights I think as a lot of people seem to want Mk2/3 lights now
