How are you guys doing with the tariffs from our UK venders. My orders have been canceled from some until some one can figure out how to charge. I don't understand all this. Minispares did a good job of telling me about it. Still don't get it. Think my age is catching up with me. Thanks

Tariffs are charged by the receiving country. It has zero effect on the people/companies sending it.
you would revive a note saying please pay X if you pay you should get it. If you don’t it might get returned. There are tales of stuff just getting destroyed.
some companies will not send as they can not get business insurance cover for sending to the USA.

I kept searching and found one on Ebay. The selling party is ADO. The price including shipping and customs was less than Mini Spares part price. However, it did take three weeks to get here. But it is now in the car and working fine.
Timmy850, thanks for info on those other parts suppliers. The next time I need parts I will check with them. And that will probably be next week.
And I do think this will all get sorted out eventually. Change.is sometimes difficult.

Totally a guess, but if it's like any any other duty, the customs will hold your package until you pay the tariff. The only issue for the sender will be to record the value that the tariff will be charged on. I wouldn't be surprised if there's also a handling charge applied by US customs. It might well be cheaper to buy from a US supplier if they're holding stock from before the tariff existed. They'll be subject to the tariff if it still applies when they replace their stock, but it'll be on their cost price which may be lower than the retail price you pay if you buy from abroad. Any customs handling charge will also likely be a smaller proportion of total cost, so less per item.

It's amazing how many Americans seem to think that the vendor doing the exporting pays the import tax. The eventual buyer, or the importing company, pays the tariff to the US Customs after the item(s) arrive in the USA.

Even with a 10% tariff & local taxes you're likely to be paying less than our 20% VAT, but there's carriage as well of course.

The amount I've heard from the guys in the USA on our discord chat is somewhere between 20-60% on top of the price ex UK. The amount including shipping is subject to whatever tariff is in place that day, plus customs clearance fees & fees for the courier company
