This is probably an old chestnut, but having only ever had one key fob (although we have three steering lock keys) for our late Rover Cooper 1.3Spi, we have now decided to try and get the Lucas 5as immobiliser bypassed which will both solve our current problem and also remove the possibility of potential future immobiliser problems...

We have been told of two places to try - Ralph Grafe at Britsdoc.com in Germany (for an immobiliser replacement bypass module that will still keep the ECU happy to go) and RemoteKey.co.uk at Christchurch near Bournemouth (for additional key fobs).

Given the not insignificant cost involved with either and that we have got to remove the immobiliser module and send it to either (leaving the car dead until we get it back), I was wondering if anybody has got any experience of using either (be it good, bad or indifferent) that they would perhaps share with us please??

Many thanks (in hope),

Fran

I used technozen a few years ago on a fault on a mgzr but he is currently supplying and programming two new fobs for a friend of mine for £90 which I thought was reasonable. Give Paul an email, he was really knowledgeable and may be able to help.

Used Paul at Technozen to repair two Lotus control boards last year. Both were back in three days. Don’t expect lots of comm’s though!
