Did an unofficial London to Brighton run happen last year?

Hopefully there will be one this year?

Yes, and yes.

It's not an organised, ticketed event. Just a chance for like-minded, independent Mini Owners who were not quite ready to give up on a May Sunday jaunt, from London down to Brighton.

Lack of parking in Brighton was a PITA, last year. As was the closure of the M23, that morning. Despite all that, many enjoyed the day.

As above, it's free form, some may wish to park up, on a meter, and wander around in Brighton. Others are heading on to Seaford, where parking is available.

Details:

The London to Brighton Mini Run will take place on Sunday 17th May.
09:00 Crystal Palace, Anerley Hill SE19 2BA for the ULEZ compliant (or those who wish to pay the ULEZ Charge)
09:45 Coulsdon, Full Monty Cafe CR5 ЗЕА (For those Not ULEZ Compliant)
10:30 Pease Pottage, Services RH11 9YA
11:30 Brighton, Madeira Drive East BN2 1EN
13:00 Seaford, Esplanade Car Park BN25 1JH
No registration. No tickets. Just Let us know if you intend to join us on the day, with your Mini.

Due to access restrictions at Crystal Palace, we will be starting from Anerley Hill. There are parking spaces (marked in yellow) on the southbound side. Departure is 09:00 on Sunday 17th May.

Just a reminder:

London to Brighton (and on to Seaford) run is on Sunday 17th May.

formed of Mini enthusiasts who miss the old "organised L2B Runs" and are individually capable of joining others on a run to the South coast.

ULEZ compliant cars leaving Anerley Hill (see Map) at 09:00

Non ULEZ compliant from Coulsdon at 09:45 A23 to Brighton (Madeira Drive) then Seaford

Stopping at Pease Pottage Services 10:30 approx, for any who wish to join us there.

The numbers are growing year by year.

Join us.

We did, thanks, weather was great, too.

This Run looks set to grow and grow.

After Brighton, most of us carried on to Seaford, where you can park FREE for up to twelve hours.

I thought I was misreading the signs!

Looks like I’ll have to get into this for next year!! Also from other classic cars, they tend to use rodean cafe just by the marina

Looks good and more like the very early days that I remember of the 'London to Brighton Mini Run' when it used to start in Battersea Park and finish in Preston Park, Brighton. As a smaller event I always thought it was more fun to take part in back in the day, so well done for organising this new run!

Problem is parking up at that end. We went via Marine Drive, down to the Black Rock Car Park. Then on to Seaford sea front, where you can park all day for free.

Definitely better socially.
Everyone was chatting to each other, enjoying the day and the atmosphere of being with likeminded individuals.

Took a Run from London to Eastbourne, today.

Decent turnout and perfect weather.

Looking forward to London to Brighton '27.
