I need a decent crankshaft for a 1275 A-plus. Can anyone help me out..

I stripped an engine for a good friend and the end of the shaft is b^^^^^^d where the flywheel has come loose at some point. I thought it came off far too easily!

Ideally it should be no more than 10 thou down on diameters, but so long as it's in decent condition it'll be fine.

Can anyone help me out?

Way back in the 1960s, a friend had his 970 Flywheel shear on the line at Prescott.  He found a company in Cheltenham to metal spray the mangled tail for me, and I re machined it.

I have thought of that, but by the time it is sprayed and then accurately machined with the taper accurately ground it will probably be cheaper to find a decent used one.

It's OK now, I managed to find one in good condition.

Cleaning up the crank and cutting the taper was no problem.  To grind the finish, I bolted a bench grinder to the Cross Slide.

Although I passed it off as skill and took the credit, it was 90% luck.
