Hi all,
I’m offering my 1991 Rover Mini Cooper for sale — a genuine matching numbers car that’s had a comprehensive, well-documented restoration completed in 2017 and has covered just under 2,000 miles since.
The aim of the rebuild was to return the car as close to original factory specification as possible, while improving long-term reliability where appropriate.
The shell was fully stripped, inspected and professionally repaired, with all structural bodywork and paint carried out by Wood & Pickett. It was refinished in the correct factory colour, and the interior headlining was also fitted by them during the restoration.
Mechanically, the engine and gearbox were rebuilt from the ground up. The engine has been rebored to +0.040” (approx. 1310cc), with a balanced crankshaft and rebuilt differential. A full nut-and-bolt rebuild was carried out using genuine Mini Spares parts where possible, along with high-quality components where they offer improved durability. The rear subframe is brand new (genuine), and the front has been reconditioned.
The interior remains true to original Cooper specification and presents very well. The original Cooper steering wheel has recently been professionally re-leathered (Jan 2026) using the correct leather and red stitching — see photos for the finished result.
The car sits on refurbished Minilite alloys with Falken tyres in excellent condition.
Underneath is solid and tidy, with only light surface corrosion consistent with careful use since restoration — not a stored show car, but a properly used and maintained one.
