I'm looking for a base map  for my 7 port. Its from Specialist Components. Its 1380. I have an AC Dodd RS cam.

Does anyone know where I can get a base fueling and ignition map to get started. The original one on the ECU is not great.

Right now it ticks over and revs lovely but its hoppy during acceleration.

Cheers,

Simon

Its the Typhoon. Its an early type. I got it years ago and with all the problems fitting a 7 port, I'm only getting it running now.

I'm in Ireland.

Near Cork? Looking on the scs website there is a specialist there. My experience with the delta hasn't been great and the typhoon is even older. If you can go for a better ecu that's used by your local rolling road and just get them to do it. SC like to stick long duration cams on the 7 port and the RS definitely isn't that. Possibly why their base map isn't so good

I have the Billet Aluminium 7 port head and Sc Billet Throttle bodies on my 1293 and even after all of the good work that Oz did building the engine my confidence with the Delta ECU going fwd is somewhat jaded. Power was ok (i wish i had gone for the MED rods to up the rev range) capped at 7000 although power was still climbing. Something for the future. I know Graham (Ironman G) has gone the turbo route to gain a better increase for his pup but i am still trying to remain normally aspirated although my gearing is set up for acceleration and not top end (something i'm sure in the future will change) (Oz did both our engine builds by the way) Also something i mentioned to Graham, the fuel injectors supplied by SC were far too big and i changed mine to 220cc items. I also had Oz change the valve springs for his conical style as the poundage on the SC supplied items were excessive.

Other items i had upgrade were the inserts for the exhaust and went for larger diameter studs and Wurth inserts.

I am now contemplating going either Haltech or Fueltech once i get my car on the rd. (Got to finish the house before that happens) I had a very good dialogue with another forum member telling me his experience with the same setup i have got and it was not the best. It does appear the Delta ecu is limited in what it can do and is open to a lot of variables.

So with the fact you have the earlier ecu i would seriously consider going for something more modern and superior.

This is the Fueltech ecu i am looking at buying.

You guys might want to consider the range of Maxx ECU's they are highly thought of in the turbo world, very easy to navigate etc and very competitively priced.

I'm going to go to my rolling road guy and see what ECU he recommends. The car drives lovely bar the jumping during a set rev range (acceleration).

I didn't receive most of the parts and the wiring was wrong. Specialist Components don't answer the phone or read emails so the build was a longer journey that I'd have liked.

Specialist Controls were great though.
