Title should be "Magnum scuttle" but I can't edit it.

Bought a couple of repair panels as my scuttle has a bit of rust at each end. They've arrived and they look like they have been squashed and pulled back into shape and just a bit crap.

Is this normal? Is this how they are? Or have might be damaged? If it was just one of them I'd say damaged, but it's both sides.

edit2> Just done what I should have done in the first places and searched the forum. Yeah, they're always crap. Shouldn't have bothered!

post a pic?  I use https://imgbb.com/ don't pay for anything just do it free

would probably have to do a bit of manipulating while fitting anyway, to make it fit right but that only goes so far

side note if you're cutting the ends off the scuttle might want to have a little gentle poke around up the top of the flitch panel, I had a bit of a nasty little hole growing there on mine, with the end off it's an ideal time to do the repair, getting at it from the inside is pretty much a no-go

trouble is you can't see that area from below because of the the closing panel

that last one isn't 'finished' by the way lol I just quickly mucked about with a skim of filler to get an idea of if it could be smooth enough

Changed the title for you.

And as for those end pieces, more trouble than they are worth to be honest and if they are rotted out what are the closeouts like
