Hi all,
Where I live, there are not many alternatives to 20w50 mineral oil (mainly Castrol GTX).
I recently found I can source Motul classic oil which is supposed to have high zinc content.
Does anybody have experience with this oil?
Cheers.

I had a quick search around the net for this oil, it seems to have a very high ZDDP content ie 1800ppm which is normally considered too high for the A series engine, further digging seemed to discover it is actually repackaged V twin oil ie suitable for Harley-davidson with there roller lifters and ball/roller bearings. You may be better off staying with Castrol GTX Classic if it's freely available.

Is this Westway oil more acceptable on the zinc content side?

Westway sell a very nice range of oils suitable for the A/A plus engines and deserve to be more popular than they are, they are one of the few British companies that actually list what additive package is included rather than using words like suitable/adequate etc.

I accidently put Minispares oil in my racer and it didn`t go bang and spent most of it`s time between 5500 and 7000 revs for around 1500 miles so I don`t think you can go wrong with it.
I normally use VR1 in that car but Minispares in the others.
