Hi all,
I will be taking my MPI engine for a rebore, I have 21253 pistons +20 and my machine shop, here in France, needs to know the piston to bore clearance and where it's actually meseared from on the piston.
Does anyone know ?
Thanks
Pete.

Hi, if you Google Classic Mini Engine Specifications Guide / PDF / PISTON
It's a document from Scribd and this may help you decide the clearence required for your engine.

On the crown, the part number is stamped on it, then after or under that is a SP and some numbers stamped following that. That's the Skirt to Bore Clearance in metric and the piston is measured at 90 degrees to the Pin, 13 mm up from the bottom of the skirt.

The one I have in my hand says :
AE 21253 .020 KKD
That's all I can see.
