Hello,

Is it possible and are there any benefits of fitting a Cooper S air box induction pipe in an SPi air box?

Like this one here: https://usa.minispor...ction-pipe.html

Are there other options for an SPi besides the K&N filter upgrade to get more air in the system? If so, what do I do with the yellow hose thats connected to the existing induction pipe in the attached picture?

Thanks!

The round bit the hose goes to is a vacuum actuator  that controls a flap to direct warm air from around the exhaust. If you don't have the actuator, just block off the hose.

I doubt you'd increase the airflow usefully over the standard filter case, especially not with an engine that's anywhere near standard.

seems to be no advantage to the s one other than appearance. fit a k&n instead of standard paper element and ensure that the vacuum flap does operate so you are getting cold air into the airbox. about all you can do

Thank you for the replies. After some searching, it seems no real benefit is the general consensus. Thank you for helping me keep more money in my pocket!  :D

The paper element will flow as well as a K&N - but only while it's clean.
