Hi All;

 

I just recently discovered this forum and joined.  I drive a 1996 Rover Mini Spi.  I purchased it in the Netherlands in 2005 and brought it home to Canada in 2013.  I have recently discovered there is no diagnostic cable and port fitted (may have been removed by previous owner?) so I can't do a Mems scan.  Lately there has been a rough idle problem which those in the know put down to leaking vacuum pipes.  I've ordered new ones as well as Lambda O2 exhaust sensor just in case but the latter is on back order and holding up delivery.  I am rather hoping there are othe Spi owners over here who can assist with some tech knowledge speicific to North America or at least empathise with me.  Hopefully I don't own the only example    .

Just in case you have been looking for an OBI II port ,the diagnostic plugs on these is two three pin sockets found loose near the fuse board. One is white for ECU and the other is Green for Alarm.

Even if there is no port (it will be there somewhere), it isn't a big deal. There isn't much information available from the ECU and very little work requires connecting to it.

Cars with ECUs are still diagnosed the same ways vehicles were before.
