A big thank-you to this forum, before I leave.

I bought a Mini van project a few years ago, and this forum has been just brilliant. So much help. Would've taken twice as long to finish, without you.

Anyway, the Mini's been finished a couple of years, done more miles than most of my projects ever do, including a few 300-mile days (while towing a teardrop). It's been huge fun to own, but vans are now such big money that I can't afford to risk keeping such an expensive and shiny thing in my knockabout project-shed. So it's been sold.

For the last few months I've been looking out for a solid-with-patina moggy van (even reconned a 1275 ready for it)... but then this irresistibly bonkers thing came up for £peanuts so I've moved to Le Cote Obscur, instead.

Cheers, everyone.

I really like that. Won't be seeing you at this year's Minis in the Mountains then? Shame, I was going to come over for a chat. You've probably helped me at some point, so cheers Alpda, and bon voyage Daz.

Nice. I swapped Mini ownership for a Citroen as well - a rather lovely BX GT but I still hang around on here sometimes.

Yeah, I probably won't actually leave leave. And, you never know, a tatty-but-sound van or estate might come my way in the future: one I won't mind getting the occasional bump or spatter of paint/weld/swarf. Though after getting used to all the s-p-a-c-e around the Acadiane's engine and gearbox... I might not want to go back.
