Afternoon All.
Been a while since I posted on here, but as I'm now early days in planning the next round of mods to Lola (which will be S conversion and maybe a few other tweaks) I'd once again be grateful of the input and advice of the Mini community.
One thing that comes up in every discussion when doing the so called "Stage 3 90bhp / JCW S conversion", is that 90bhp is somewhat of a pipedream as the ECU will cap it around 85bhp. I recently had a look online and came across this fascinating website by Andrew Revill (https://andrewrevill...MSMapperEU2.htm) explainging how he's successfully modified the chip and ECU as a whole, to be reprogrammable.
Needless to say, I'm completely ignorant in such matters, so I'm very interested to know if a) anyone out there has had this conversion done to their MPi ECU, and b) were you then successfully able to get the oompf and va-va-vroom factors increased? I'm not looking for stupid gains, but it'd be nice to get up towards the 100bhp mark.
I know there are other after market options available / carb conversions etc, but I'm particularly interested in keeping things as original in appearance as possible.
