Can anyone tell me the equivalent of E5 in France and whether it is widely available?

Thanks

Of those that I can find available, I'd suggest SP95. Apparently, it doesn't have ethanol and should suit most Minis unless you are running a higher compression engine, in which case, you'll need SP98, but be aware that does have ~ 5% Ethanol and may cause issues with rubber parts in the fuel system, unless they have been upgraded..

sp98 has 5% etanol E5

sp95 has 10% ethanol E10

I thought all pump fuel had ethanol now but it appears E5 is a limit, not a requirement, so some premium juice can be both E5 & ethanol free.

We've had it for 18 years now, so it shouldn't just be the ethanol concerning you about any rubber parts.

Many thanks for the replies. Sounds like SP 98 is what I need.

but will all garages sell it or is it hit and miss like the UK?

I dare say it depends on where you go. Likely to be better near Le Mans or Monaco.

Total's station finder, expect other brands do similar
