Wheel Bearing Outer Spacer Ring.

Best Answer Lplus , Today, 02:21 PM

The seal can be installed without the spacers but it should not be driven in to touch the bearing outer race.  The original spacer was intended to ensure the seal ran on the correct part of the CV joint casing.

Personally I used the original type that came out of the bearing but I would probably use two of the thinner ones together if I had to, since they both ensure the correct spacing and ensure the seal is installed square to the bearing and the CV joint.

Hello

My car 1972 Mini clubmann 998

I previously purchades this C-AJJ4028MINMS, BRAKE CONVERSION TO MINISPARES 7.5" DISCS AS PER COOPER S.
And i was about to deliver this to my mechanic and i found out that the wheelbearing kit is missing a seal spacer that is supposed to be behind the inner wheel bearing. As i understood this was supposed to be a complete kit to replace my old hub and brakes.

This is the code of the wheelbearings i recieved GHK1140MS and there is no spacer in this kit.

When i look for a spacer i find 21A1307M, and the info says that later cars didnt have these spacers at all.

So my question is can i install it without the spacer and it will all be fine? Or do i have to order the spacer, or complain to minispares that the "complete" kit is not so complete.

Thanks.
