Fuel Tank Breather

So I currently have a supercharged mini with a MPI tank that doesn’t seem to have a breather to the floor of the boot it has instead what looks to be a recirc valve on top of the tank which looks to run to the bottom of the tank but no outside.
I’m no longer using the return hose due to being on a dcoe.
I am however getting a strong smell of fuel in the drivers seat.
So my question is this.
Is the valve thing just not able to cope with it being a supercharged engine now and can I just replace this hose to one that just runs to the boot floor and vents to atmosphere?
Many thanks for your help

I think you will find that the 'recirc valve' on top of your MPi petrol tank should be connected to the vent pipe (linked below) which runs under the floor of the car (alongside the two fuel feed/return pipes) to a Charcoal Cannister Filter located under the front passenger side wing/wheel arch, which is part of the closed breather circuit to prevent fuel vapour escaping direct to the atmosphere, under the modern vehicle pollution regs.
I would presume you could just run the tank recirc Valve Hose to a hole/grommet in the boot floor to vent the fuel vapour smell to direct atmosphere, as done on earlier carb Minis, if you don't wish to run it to the Charcoal Cannister (if fitted). Others will hopefully confirm this for you, as I am no expert on the MPi Minis...
