AHH,the good old waxstat jet.They vary the mixture due to heat expanding the wax capsule.Google the two penny cure.Steve..

Yeah, my old jet had that. According to the acdodd video I watched, it's better to keep the waxstat

Fingers crossed, there isn't that much that can wear & what can is serviceable so it's rare you'd actually need a new carb.

My guess is most waxstat issues are from people tuning without getting the engine bay hot with the bonnet shut.

 

Sometime I want do some waxstat experiments with a vortex tube.
