Are there any knowledgeable people out there that know the SC Delta 400 kit?

I have one on my Mini, which was originally a carby model.

Has anyone had any luck setting up closed loop fuel control using a wideband sensor?

Or controlling an Idle Air Bypass Valve?

I have tried SC in the past regarding idle control but without much luck.  Their view being that idle control by changing ignition timing should be sufficient.

Any info or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The ecu is not well regarded by anyone. Where do you live. Find the nearest Rolling road to yourself using the scs website which has a map of the trained operators for that ecu. Then take it there

Tbf i’ve managed fine without an iacv and used the ign timing for idle whilst its on cold start enrichment, used throughout winter and in the snow. When cold just needs a blip when coming to idle, no drama.

I am in Australia, very hard to find a rolling road over here that know the Delta 400 and SX Tune software.  I have had it on the rolling road a couple of times over the years with results being pretty average.   More popular ECU's are the Emerald and then the Haltech if you have more cash.  Thus I am keen to understand if the closed loop fuel control is functional on the Delta 400.

We are happy with the idle control as it is, just curious if IACV is an option.

I understand Haltec is more expensive but like Fueltech infinitely more tuneable.

Once i finally get my 7 Port 1293 in my car and running i will be upgrading to a Fueltech ecu. And like IronmanG has said the Delta ecu is not the best. We both had 7 port engines built for us by Ian Oz Osbourne, mine is the Billet Aluminium SC 7 Port with their Billet throttle bodies whereas IronmanG had the cast SC 7 port head with ITB's. Both very similar builds. And although i was happy with the final results i feel the ECU is holding things back, however time will tell.

Youve not mentioned if you have a wideband lambda installed into the system or not. If its a narrow band, you can kinda get it to work, but it wont be a great way to tune it, or use closed loop to its true benefit.

Yes, it is a wideband with the lambda data available in the ECU.  Data looks good in the scope and gauges.

I will try and set up the target lambda table and give the closed loop control a go.  Would be good to know if someone has had this working successfully with the Delta 400.

It might be worth reaching out to Graham Nuske, President of the SA Moke Club. He's not a tuner, but he has this set up on one of his Mokes, someone local to you set it up for him.

I got it to work a few years ago, but the ecu began dumping the map randomly when driving, so swapped to haltech. You need to make sure your target afr table is correctly mapped, and your PID settings are correct. I can send a version of my old map to you if you dm me your email address?

Steve220, that would be excellent if you could email your old map.  I think I had it "working" but have now found that the coms link to the PC drops out after a couple of minutes.  Reconnects without issue, then drops out again after a couple minutes.  This started happening after I updated the SX Tune software.  My email is wallisjd@hotmail.com.  Thankyou

Pretty sure the comms fault is quite common. My ecu went back for this

Quick update, and thankyou to Steve220.

Looks like I have sorted the comms link dropping out.  Un-installed the SX Tune software which was from the SCS Delta site and replaced it with the version on the Specialist Components site.  Also confirmed it does not check for updates.  Have been for a few runs now with the laptop plugged in, without issue.

Also had a little correspondence with Steve220 who supplied me with a copy of his map which had the closed loop control for fueling setup.   Used his PID settings for the feedback loop which worked.  Have fine-tuned this for my setup which has given me further improvement.  Fueling generally follows my target lambda table, so happy with that.  Hopefully this setup proves reliable.

Next, I will use the data logger to assist fine tune the main fuel map, and then probably turn the closed loop control for the fuel off.

I will get in touch with Graham Nuske as suggested by Spider if I run into further problems.

Thanks to Steve220 and Spider for their support.

I have used the closed loop for short drives, I then apply corrections to base map. In the manuals it says not to leave it in closed loop due to reliability of Lamba sensors. It runs better in closed loop than open. I would like to leave it there but the warnings make me nervous. Anyone run closed loop all the time?

If theyre saying theres an issue with the lambda sensors, they're selling terrible ones. Both of mine are on haltech running closed loop fuelling. They'll fail if not positioned correctly, or allowed to heat up properly.
