Evening all,
I have recently inherited a 1960 Mk1 Morris Mini, and have nearly finished a full restoration.
Everything is going great, but I have come across an issue with the clutch that I just can't work out.
I am on my 4th strip down and re-assembly now, so thought it best to ask.
Essentially the drive is always locked on, despite checking everything over multiple times.
It will sit in neutral happily, but will grind into gears and then spin away with the clutch still pressed.
I've checked -
Bleed on the master cylinder (Its also a new unit)
The throw on the arm seems well within the given tollerances
Internally the clutch plate is mounted correctly
Everything is assembled as it was removed + i have followed as many guides as I can find
Torque specs are as they should be
The engine has had a full re-build and runs nicely, and doesn't stall when going into gears
Reverse works fine
But its still acting as if the clutch is raised at all times.
Does anybody have a step by step guide they might be able to link me too, or any idea what I should be checking next?
I'm not a mechanic, but trying to rebuild this for the sentimental value i'm sure you all have.
So any help would be really appreciated.
