A green Mini Moke FJG 213C features in the recent 'Get Back' film by Peter Jackson of the Beatles rooftop concert back in January 1969.
I was watching 'Get Back' recently on DVD and being a Mini & Moke enthusiast (as well as a Beatles fan) paused the film at the point after the concert was shut down by the Met Police. When the Police officers come down from the roof and leave the Beatles Apple HQ Offices and recording studio at 3 Savile Row, London, there parked in the road opposite outside, amongst the crowds of people listening to the Beatles high above, is the 1965 Moke! I managed to read the registration numberplate and took a few screenshots off the TV screen (see post below).
I Googled the reg number in the hope that the Moke had survived which it has on the DVLA website and also led me to recent Mini & Moke event photos of the Moke online. I have emailed who I think is the current owner and a Moke club/forum member to see if he was aware but no response so far. I am not on Facebook so can't make contact that way. Hope it is of interest and who knows, it may even add some extra value and provenance to the Moke with proof that it was parked right outside the Beatles Apple HQ in Savile Row during this historic event back in 1969!
For info, the screenshots of the Moke were from: Part 3 - Rooftop Concert of the Beatles 'Get Back' DVD as released in 2022, my TV screenshots were taken at 2h 07m. This 2022 film by Peter Jackson shows the 1969 Beatles rooftop concert in much greater detail than the original 1970 'Let it Be' film edit, which is why footage of this Moke has only appeared recently.
The doors of 3 Savile Row are opening to the public for the first time next year as a museum – where the band recorded 'Let It Be' and played their infamous rooftop concert in 1969.
