hi guys, I,m about to replace the inner& outer sills on my MK1 mini. I intend to use the M-Machine panels. What I need to know is how far into the floor does sill panel extend onto the floor. I don,t need the one which incorporates the flutes as mine is solid from the bend to the flutes both sides ?

Without going to the M Machine site i'm sure you can get either a inner sill to first flute or one that is just before.

 

A lot of folk like the combination of inner and outer sill as an assy, not my personal choice as i like to install them independantly. But i can also see the merit of them like that.

 

And just checked and you can get them before the first flute

Don't know if it's worth pointing out the inner sill left the factory as part of the floor pressing. The only "right place" is where you're not trying to weld rust.

 

A flat panel will be harder to weld without heat distortion.

Thanks for replies, that,s the panel I am enquiring about, the one up to the 1st flute. The floor is sound up to there so all I need to cut out is about 1" from the upturn into the floor. I also prefer attaching outer sill seperately. So does any.one know how wide the floor section on the sill is into the floor
