Hi guys

Ive recently bought a 998 cooper with D shape pistons and 12g295 head. I mainly bought it for the spare head as I have one on my 1132cc fast road engine.

I didn't buy the gearbox as I have a late 1275 A+ one and figured I could use that. If I ever put the engine to use

Now I've heard the cooper gearboxes have a better closer set gear ratios and would suit the engine. Better than the late gearbox.

Would it be worth revisiting and fetch the gearbox? I also appreciate they have a crash 1st gear.

Thanks, Babs

Yes,  if it was originally with the engine, why not?  When it comes to the mini, a spare anything is of value.
