I’m going to start keeping a log here of the repairs and life with my three Minis. Right now, I’m focusing mostly on the green 1998 Mini—the last one I bought. I’ll copy over the post from the introduction section and add details about current repairs below.

I’ve recently managed to source some genuine "new old stock" parts: a dashboard from Spain, a brand-new original dashboard from the Netherlands, and carpets for both Minis—in Porcelain Green and Horizon Blue. I’m also expecting an original steering wheel with the "wood" top section, like the ones found on the 40th Anniversary editions and similar models. I’m also in the process of getting a brand-new carpet for the Sportpack (in Porcelain Green); even though the damage isn't immediately obvious, there are cigarette burns under the seat and in the passenger footwell. Once I get the headliner and the "Stone Beige" seats, the interior will be brand new.

I ended up getting the dashboard for €590; I had considered one from Spain, but this one looked truly new—and it was.

..and the carpets, still wrapped up. The foam backing had started to crumble with age, so I painstakingly removed it with a vacuum cleaner, and the result is fantastic.






And I’m also expecting a carpet and a steering wheel. The steering wheel, for a change, is coming all the way from Uruguay—from another Mini enthusiast.

3 fantastic looking minis you have there Petr, but how on earth are you going to keep those mats in the blue car clean?! 🤣

Hi Colin, you have a beautiful Mini too. My blue Mini doesn't get driven much—and won't be—since it spends most of its time in the garage. Besides, I’m a stickler for cleanliness; even with my daily drivers, I take out the velour floor mats and clean them almost every day I use the car—especially the driver's side one
