I had a front upper arm knuckle boot split, so decided while changing it id fit new cones,, what a ball ache I had to compress the cone a lot more that I was happy with those 9/16" pin nut&bolts aint fun, struggled to get arm pin the adjusterble hi Los,, anyway after many hours of swearing tea and crap every where n/s side is done,, but the subframe hole is slighty off not a lot but cannot tower bolt to screw in, allso the high lows are screwed right up but car is sitting 11" sill to ground

All par for the course. Compressing front cones usually feels  like bomb disposal  . They do sit unfeasibly high on new rubber, but for peace of mind you could just check the hi-lo is seated in the cone and the knuckle joint cup it fully in the top arm.

 

The subframe  can tilt if it's free on the wheels. The engine is in front of the wheels so it tends to drop forwards - you may find a jack levels it up and gets the tower bolt back in alignment.
