[STRIPEY]

I have owned my Mini over ten years and have never seen another LE Mint Stripey . It only came in two colours , white or Brooklands green. I have it insured for £20 k ! But have seen . I think it is incredibly rare .I just an auction for a non runner at 4k.
Anyone know the real value of the first Limited Editions

As with all rare Minis it is worth whatever someone is willing to pay and how keen they are to own it.

eg. At classic car auctions it only takes two people determined to add a rare car to their collection, to far exceed the estimated value while bidding against each other.

The LE Mint Stripey is the first Limited Edition Mini, hardly any appear to have survived and retained all their original features in good condition, so I think you are wise to have yours insured for £20k due to its rarity.

However also bear in mind that classic car values (including Mini values) rise and fall over the years, often inline with things like the current 'cost of living' crisis in the UK economy. Also buyer demand can change over the years, less buyers usually results in lower prices. 

eg. auction companies have often stated recently that demand and prices for pre-war classic cars and older British motorbikes has dropped significantly because the generation that remember them and owned them when younger, are declining in numbers or are now too hold to drive or ride them...
