After getting everything resolved - Engine rotating freely, Dissie cleaned and set up, Carb cleaned and set up. I was putting the inspection plate back and from a height of about 500mm I dropped the washer. It didn't even hit the wok but straight through the hole. If I tried to do it 1000 times I'd never do it.

I see it using my borescope through the starter housing but can't see how to post the picture .

Hoping the magnets on order will retrieve it, else it's wok off time whilst in and out of the rain. Fingers crossed.

Too many corners/too large however there's a 4mm flexi on order from Amazon so hopefully Monday will bring success Mike. I feel so stupid but I'm sure I'm not the first. Thanks for the suggestion

Hi - and sorry for your loss (of a washer), hope you get it back soon!

Similar mishap happened with a bolt on my wife's spi which fell and bounced off, disappearing in the starter opening ..

A neodynium magnet affixed to a piece of stiff but elastic wire came to the rescue. We figured it's wok off either way if it doesnt work, so nothing to loose.

Given the materials of casing - it's not been too difficult to fish out, gliding about the non-magnetic surfaces until .. 'pling', careful fish out and ensuing happiness :)
