I’m interested in how people update the interior of a classic Mini without losing its original character.

For those who have refreshed their interiors, what small changes have made the biggest difference? I’m thinking about things like replacing worn trim, improving the appearance of switches and fittings, or tidying up previous owners’ modifications.

Have you found any upgrades that look period-correct rather than too modern? It would be great to hear what worked well and what you’d avoid doing again.

fads come and go don't they, in a mini pretty much everythings been done at some point

currently the trend is for putting it back to original as much as possible for some reason, I'm not really into that myself, but it's all original switches and original trim etc

are you concerned about 'value' or are you thinking about what would look nice and make it more comfortable and useable day to day

I've installed a bespoke Optimise Auto Trim interior but kept the original so that it could be put back to factory if needed.

I tried to keep my mk1 SDL original trim but nobody make the correct carpet colour now. Hazelnut.

The upholstery is Satin Beige and don't think that's available either.
