Hi
I have a pre-verto clutch and need to obtain a new retaining bolt for the clutch slave cylinder. Can anyone tell me the thread standard and size for this bolt, and what is a good place to obtain bolts one at a time, not to but them in the 100's!!!
Cheers
John
What is the bolt thread/size for pre-verto-slave cylinder?

if u mean the ones that go into the flywheel housing i think they are a 3/8 unc and most motor factors will sell bolts individually i would have thought!!

I think the bolts that go in the aluminium are witworth with a course thread and a finer thread in the cast iron block being unc. Not sure on bolt size it might be 5/16 whitworth.

WOAH NONONONO definately not whitworth!! thats a whole different kettle of fish!!might be 5/16 whitworth
mini threads were either unc - course thread or unf - fine thread.
3/8 unc or unf is a 9/16" spannse size (about 14.5mm)
5/16 unc or unf is 1/2" spanner size (about 12.5mm)
1/4 unf (havent seen a unc) 7/16" spanner size (about 11mm)
anything else i guess there were a few metric bolts here n there but mostly were UNC or UNF!!
some mini bolts are awkward!! they have a bigger thread size but have a smaller head for fitting convenience i guess, the ones that hold the clutch cover on for example are a 5/16UNC but have the same head as a 1/4 bolt!! thast like a 13mm bolt with an 11mm head!!
does that make sense!!
