Hi
I recently posted a topic about several of the spotwelds coming undone between the grill panel, and the bonet latch panel. I havnt yet got around to sorting it, and am worried that the panel will bend too much with continued opening and closing of the bonnet.

I don't possess welding gear, so can anyone recomment a good mobile welder not too far from Milton keynes?

How easy is it to do plug welds? I have never done any welding before whatsoever, and am really worried i will cause damege by the heat, distortion, blow through and sparks etc damaging paint.

Cheers

If you can drive the car, there is a good Mini welder in Hitchin (i think he is still there, I was going to get him to do some work on my Cooper).

He is well known in the classic Mini arena, and has restored works cars in the past I believe.

I will try to find his number if you are interested.

Try potting a post up on http://www.tyredandexhausted.co.uk/as I know there’s at least 3 good people who can weld all in the Mk area so you wouldn’t have far to go.
