i`m still having problems with my clutch. The pedal goes rock solid and cant be pushed down.
It seems to happen as the car warms up after driving for say 10 mins or so. I`ve fitted a new slave and braided hose from slave to master and bled thoroughly . Thought it had cured it. drove it for a couple of miles and it was ok. then later did a bit more running about and it went again.
Is it the master cylinder ? or is it the clutch.?
Has anyone had this before. please help

The master cylinder might be blocked. Try and check it for damage or blockages.

if u can remove the master cylinder from the car theres a circlip under the rubber cover, remove this and you can dismantle the whole workings in a couple of seconds and clean it all out!!

if theres a seal broken if ur feeling brave u can do a seal kit i think from minispares or jsut do as i did and clean out all the gunk and seals and re-assemble it with a little bit of light oil and it'll work fine for years!!

The seals in your master are fubar... basically it's not letting the pressure back through after pressing the clutch...

If you get someone to help you'll see as you press the clutch (when soft) the ram goes out, but does not return the full distance, repeated pressing build up the pressure, so you eventually end up with no clutch

For the price of a new master it's woth changing the whole unit and not just the seals.

Thanks to all who got back to me. I thought it might be the master cylinder but was clutching at straws, now i can get on and sort it at the weekend.
many thanks , Trev
