Hi,
I'm trying to remove the facia on a mayfair 1996, but I'm finding it impossible to get at those bolts inside the air ducts. Has anyone managed that before?
I can get the bolt behind the stereo fine, but I'm not even sure if I'm at the right ones in the air ducts. They appear to be screwed onto the body right at the end of the bracket, but i can't seem to get in at them with anything.

yes, it's the walnut dashboard I mean.
I'm sure the bolts will just twist off with a spanner, i just can't get in there at them. its such a tiny space...

nah they're usually a pig to get to, mine were finger tight but they were wing nuts not actual 6 sided nuts

the two outer ones are under the dash. if it is a genuine rover dash then i think they are 10 mm nuts.
the centre one comes off by removing the stereo.
the two outer ones you just need to reach under the dash

you were absolutely right, miniboo. Thanks. The nuts were underneath the dash.
I don't know why it doesn't say that in the manual.
If anyone else has to remove their walnut dash, there's no need for all that removing the air ducts to get at the bolts on the brackets like it says in the manual. Just remove the stereo and get the one in behind there, then the two side ones can be removed under the dash.
The driver's side one was still a nightmare to get at on my car though, because of the bonnett release cable.
