well it fits in a fiesta mk 1 ,2 ,3 ,4 ,5 ,6 and even 7 and the KA so dont see why one wouldnt
The 16vminishop did produce a duratec frame i think, but it was stated it would need an extended round nose i believe.
Its possible one would go in under a round nose, but it would have to be a frame like the amt design (without the suspension towers. (using coilovers and special top arms) as opposed to the allspeed design with suspension towers (so you have the option of using rubber cones.)

Not sure what that means, or how to pronounce it, but my shafts are here!
So, I can centralise the engine/box in the frame and crack on with welding it up! WOOO!
Aaaand, I have sorted out someone to tig my manifold up for me, that got started yesterday (by me)
The carbs are closer to lining up with the inlet ports on the smaller block engine, so the runners don't need to be on that much of an angle. I just need to cut the four runners so they line up with the carbs, then chop four little 35mm long bits of tube, machine them so they've got a nice seat on them for the carb, then get someone else to weld it all together. Plus, the angle of the float chambers needs to be flatter, at the moment they're a few degrees off horizontal (well, vertical in the second picture), but that'll be sorted by my Mr Mig man!
Something that I've noticed though, the inlet ports are MASSIVE on the C16XE head, they're bigger than the C18XE ones by far. So, the 50mm OD tubing is actually a little bit small. Might ask Migman if he can slit them and weld a wedge in there so they taper out from the 45mm OD on the carb to about 60mm OD on the flange. Mmmm, flange *dribbles*
So, all I really did was saw up some alloy tubing, which will probably be replaced with different alloy tubing that's been cut by a professional!

I'm just using a manifold gasket for alignment for now, but I've found a guy that's going to cut me a flange from 10mm thick aluminium. Should go together nicely really.

BUT, he doesn't do work whilst he's here!
And, he talks about himself in the third person, a sure sign of a genius!

Sounds like a happy customer! I might head round his later and have a look for myself, might end up wanting something similar for my project. Were they leather or vynal?

I've decided to spend a day mini fixing today, so I'm going to try and get a lot further on with the subframe.
I've now got driveshafts, correct sized engine/box etc all sat in the garage so there's no reason I can't complete the frame today (in terms of engine and gearbox mounts at least).
But, I still need to get a gear change unit (lever and rods), mod them so they fit nicely and then set them all up. I'm hoping to get away with a small hole in the bulkhead, rather than the usual big box that people cut out. We'll see though, I believe I can do it if I shorten/modify the linkage on the 'box, so I'm going to do some fettling with that today too.
Also, the engine was a cheap one because it was 'smoking on start up', but I've had the inlet manifold off last night and seen that the oil appears to be coming from up top, number four inlet valve had a lot of oil sat on top of it, so it's time to whip the head off (today if I get chance) and sort that out. Might just be a valve guide seal, it might need the valve guides replacing. Either way, I know a man that'll sort that little lot out for me in quick time!
