Haha, I've done nothing other than start the bodywork and fire her up a few times.

Still not found a unit, still not sure whether to just break the thing.  Just completely lost interest in the whole Mini thing.

It's just not being used Jon. I've had it sat in the garage since I bought the 205 in January. Here's how I see it....
Allspeed frame, shafts, arms and tie bars are worth £5-600
Engine is worth £200
Jenveys/filter/manifold is worth £4-500
ECU is worth £150
Seats are £150
Rear cage is £150-175
Harness bar is another £75-100
Wheels/tyres are worth £150-200
Front brakes are £200
Rear subframe with all brakes is £150
Hi los, Avo dampers, H4 headlights, GRP dash, stereo, gearbox, pedalbox, Acewell digi dash, Wilwood clutch slave, cv joints, refurbed hubs, steering wheel/qr hub and boss, heater unit, doors, glass etc......

It all adds up to a day of stripping the car and having easily £2k+ of parts to sell before I even think about if the tax exempt shell is worth anythimg. Or keeping a car that's never used and spending hundreds on making it look a bit tidier. I'm even considering stripping all the racey bits out to fund a proper shell resto. Then plonk a standard front subby with a 1275 in it.

I think you would regret selling it in a few years.

i have not driven mine for a year now and do sometimes contemplate selling it, but the smiles i get from driving it in the summer is worth more than the money i could get for it.

Just sort some storage, park it up and look at it next year when the Pugs fallen to bits :-)

My main mental idea at the moment is to strip the Mini, try and raise about £2k but keep the shell and maybe the rear subby.

Then it can go into storage or a unit, where I can slowly do a resto. Nothing racey at all. But a proper shell resto, then a proper 998 or 1275 A series on remote box, all refurbed, then an immaculate interior (all standard and period).  That's the only way the Mini will be ever worth anything to be honest.  And in my mind it's the only way I can justify keeping it.

As for going fast, well last weekend scared me, badly.  I was literally half a second away from a head-on on the M40.  Some stupid idiot heading up the Southbound carriageway in the middle lane as we were going down it.  Missed it, but only by forcing the Beemer that I was overtaking into the hard shoulder so I could get in the left lane and darting over to the left as I braked.  Back end on the 205 went light as I yanked it over and I was only feet away from full-on impact.  Dead times for sure.  So driving fast in a little car just isn't me anymore, not at all.

Putting it back to standard would be a good idea, I'm really not into engine swaps and stuff like that.  I did toy with a micra engine but in the end i knew it would ruin the car for me.

Pretty sensible decision really. I'll admit I've kinda moved on from the whole conversion thing too to be honest. It's only when you're honest with yourself that you realise its not worth the effort and its not really that fast either. I'd love a standard mini again definitely, its the way forward!. I would hate for you to sell the whole car though, I'd kinda miss it :(
