im not sure...... this is what it ses in mini world

"this simple imobiliser from mini spares cant be fitted to any car. it is basicaly a replacement battery terminal with a removable nob. when you leave the vehicle you merely unscrew and remove the nob. this will allow the clock, interior lite and alarm if you have one.to function thanks to a low ampage bypass link wich remains connected. for more in fo blahh blahh blahh

i'll try to explain this as simple as poss.
Once you've parked youre min up unscrew the knob and it cuts the power supply to the car.
There is a fused supply which by-passes the immobilzer so that you don't lose all the memory of you're radio and so any alarms you,ve got still work. If you were to try and start the engine the fuse would blow and the car won't start.

as well as this it's also worth installing an isolator switch on the positive feed to the iginition coil.(this will prevent them from bump starting it)

Remember that if you tell anyone that you've got these connected all a theif would have to do is open the boot and screw the knob. Its probably not gonna stop em but the more you have fitted the longer it'll take em to nick it!

no because when you tighten the knob up the power will still go to the iginition as normal the only thing you may lose is the memory on your radio and if you've got an alarm this would also be affected

It's called Dis-car-nect and you can get it from most classic car or tuning shops. If you want to make this system more secure, unscrew the knob completely and keep it with you (good idea to drill it and put a ring through it so you can clip it to your car keys). You can also buy spare knobs.
There is something on Minispares.com called a Discarnect (part no. MW004) but the description of it sounds more like an FIA cutoff switch as shown by Charliebrown. But that could be it (there's no photo). If you order it and the wrong thing comes you can always send it back.

I've got an FIA cut off like pic charlie shows. It works a treat.
Will be much quicker to use than the other one. and the key fits in your pocket. I clip it to my car keys like dan suggests
