Hey guys, I've just joined the forum but hope to be on here a lot more regularly!

I've got this head lying about and I have no idea what spec it is.

Its a 12G940 but only half of the 2 and 4 is there. The 0 and 1 are no longer there due to machining, why would this be? it also has double valve springs. The ports seem to have been mildly opened up and the valves appear standard although they do have punch marks in them altough not in sequence, i'e 1234. Also, are the brass bits standard on the face?

Can anybody enlighten me as to what sort of stage this is and if its worth much? Thanks

Do you know what size the valves are?

I'd say it looks to be about a Stage 3. I believe some engine tuners ground off the head casting numbers to show that the head has had work done on it.

Second hand I'm not sure? I reckon about £150?

Hi thanks for the reply, they seem to be 28mm and 33mm. If we call the thermostat end cylinder no1 the exhaust valve has 3 dots at cylinder no4 there is two dots on the exhaust valve, no other dots on any valves.
The ports are smooth and apear to have been manifold matched the inlets are 37mm approx and the exhaust, two sides 28mm by 25mm and centre exhaust 31mm by 29mm approx.

be sure to prep the head for sale correctly.

this usually means a nice thick coat of bright red hammerite and making all the bare metal surfaces shiny like new.... lol. Ebay users are suckers for shiny objects.
