What parts of the rear subframe should be seam welded to increase strength?

i cant remember off hand but there is a book by david vizzard called modifying your mini or something!! well worth looking into!!

I thought rear subframes were only seam welded to cut down on the number of gaps where water can get in and, hence, stop the rot !?
