rubber thingy

what is the rubber thingy called, because i wana get sum new ones for a disk setup im gonna put on.
will it really matter being split for a couple of weeks?, solong as i keep filling it with grease? as i cant be bother to change it, if im goin over to disks ina few weeks

Not a good idea to run with any rubbers split. lets in grit and various other rubbish. Should change the rubber, at least give it a good clean with white spirit when you come to change everything.

Hi, Are You Refering To The CV Joint Boot?im running on drums, and the rubber thngy that holds the grease that attached on the the drum hub, where the drive shaft goes into is split.

Ah I See You've Intercepted Adam, Great Minds And All Of That Eh!....you mean the CV boot perhaps?

cost like £4 but you'll get 2 and no delevey charge. I love my local parts shop for little things like rubber boots for parts. mean you can do it right there and then, no waiting.

some say they dont last long but i did it on a car i had and it lasted a few years!

you can get a universal cv boot that is split you just cut the old one off clean the area put new greese in the joint (comes with the kit)wrap the new boot round the shaft and glue down the seam no probs
