You must be he-man! LOL. I removed my rear sub complete and wouldn't have described it as weighing very little compared to the alumnium beam replacement (which i could lift with my little finger). I'd say the same weight wise, but perhaps nearer 70-75kgs.

A Full Rear Subframe 70-75Kg? Really! Blimey I Didn't Think It Was That Heavy, When I Did It To Mine I Moved It Around With One Arm And Put It On The Car Myself...
Honestly That Has Shocked Me... :D

If people are describing them as weighing very little and that you can pick it up with one arm, i wouldn't say they weighed 60-75 kgs...unless of course, you are both He-Man? But i think that is technically impossible...?

Well I know the subframe weighs 14kg. Each radius arm is about 8kg I *think*, the hubs must be about 4-5kg?

Yeah I've been piecing it together from various literature and I think I've really over estimated. Jammy is spot on with 14kg for the subframe, 8kg for each trailing arm and probably 5kg ish for each hub so we're looking at 40kgs all in 45kgs max with shocks etc.

I'm saying an easy 50kgs once you've got the drum brakes fully assembled and grease in the radius arms, etc.

I agree with the 14kg for bare subframe, a complete built up radius arm with hubs, brakes, etc with the spacered drum is 14kgs each, fairly accurate as I have just weighed it now

So that is 42kgs, then you have the shockers, rubber suspension, cones, ball joints which must be another 10kgs, so 52kgs is my best guess

What are you up to Koss?

PS When I swapped a standard subframe setup to the minispares alloy beam, minifins, protech coilovers I saved about 22kgs off the backend

Cheers
David

You put ball joints on the back? Oh yea, your special aren't you!

Surely if your putting ball joints on the back your not using a rear built subframe..

I couldn't remember the name of that ball thing, but now I remember now, the knuckle joint

I decided to edit my response, not because of you Jammy, but because I don't want to offend sensible folk on this forum

If you have nothing constructive to say just be quiet

Perhaps one of them is the animated He-Man and one of them is Dolph Lundgren? Either that or one of them is She-Ra??? :gimme:

My guess (seeing as we are playing guessing the weight of a rear subby) is around 50kg's
