Actually, I've just thought, it hasn't got rubber cones, trumpets, or dampers on!

weigh em seperately and post em up someone!

I will have a complete rear subby off the car next week, which I can also weigh, I also have a built engine and box, a front subby with hubs and discs and loads of other stuff off the car. Might weigh it all at some point!

Right, well I weighed it in at 45kg. So once you add the rubber cones, dampers and trumpets, I'd say it would be between 50-55kg.

while were all being weight weeneys  , how much do those alloy rear beams weigh ? if a subbys 16kg or whatever it was you said!

I like the idea of just cutting the rest of the rear sub frame off tho, and just leaving the bit that sits up against the heel board ?!?!??!!??!?!

I don't think tha Mr MOT will be too happy with putting his name to a car fitted with such a heavily modified subframe as that :dozing:

well to be honest its its not much diff than the alloy beam ?! if anything i would have thought it would be stronger, like the bit in the middle where its drilled, that bit cant take much stress surely as its bolted either side of the radius arm ?? im guessing your putting extra mounting bolts /brackets in sway?

to be honest i think the bulk of the weight is in the radius arms and drums plus the full rear sub gives the rear end a fair bit of strength!

true

yes, it has two m10's bolted through the frame into the heelboard with spreader plates. this will be plenty. the MS alloy box section doesnt use any extra mounts!
