Decided to leave out the thermo routing.

Now, engine is out, managed to do this with the wheels still on, so the driveshafts are just sitting in the engine bay. I am wanting to replace the pot joint seals but clearly the inner cv joint is in the way of fitting the new ones. Does the inner cv joint detatch from the driveshaft somehow? if so, how? OR am i able to pull the driveshaft through from inside of the engine bay? This just saves me the time of removing hubs etc. Thanks

you can get them off but its a bloody hard job i find.

A sharp blow with a mallet and a block of wood should get the inner CV off, but it took me hours.

Be carefull not to loose any of those bearings/balls

It detatches yes. But won't pass through the subframe. From memory - cut or remove the boot, the the end of the pot joint will come off the end of the shaft; on the end of the shaft there's a cage with lots of ball bearings on, do not loose these - take them out and keep them safe.

the bit underneath where the balls are situated comes out of the drive shaft, its a bit difficult to remove, you may need some heat and a collection of hammers. when it pops out, you can then put the boot on, and put everything back on, in reverse order.

this any good??
