Removed the breather on the clutch side of the engine to find this. Drained the oil and couldnt find any more, chekced some of the other hoses and seemed only be in this one place. Shook it and water and the gunge came out. So head gasket gone? Or would that be jumping to conclusions?

would guess its just water vapour from the clutch housing, seeing as you drian the oil and found no more. has the car been stood a while?

its just been standing a few days, im goign out tonight, ill just keep my eye on it. Ive had heads blow on other cars and its been a lot more obviously than this......There was a fair amount of gunge in there. Didnt appear to be any in the clutch housing at all. It was all confined to the breather. Ive been doing lots of short trips recently. Maybe it just built up?

Thats some sound advice there miniboo, you obviously know the area. I'll be sure to follow it, although i do prefer the B1113 through mulbarton. You can pull some G through those bends. lol.

Took your advice, bombed it round the bypass, if the head had gone id know, all was well and drives better than ever, repairing the CV made lots of difference. Fun though. :gimme:

i usually find if there's a problem you can't find, rag the hell of it and it will either show itself or go for good!!!!
