I'm James from Reading. I've been driving since my 17th birthday three years ago. I've driven all sorts of cars, from a 1.1L Corsa up to a 4.0L Jaguar. I'm currently driving a Peugeot 406 and 307. I got the 307 on Saturday to replace my first car, a 1994 Astra, which had to be scrapped. :'( I currently have two jobs, having quit one last month and starting another one soon after. One of them is working in a kitchen in a community centre on Thursdays, and the other is courier work on days when I'm needed.

I've never owned a Mini but was hoping I could get some help with that. I've got about £2,000 to spend some time in the future, after I get an idea of what I could get for that. Hopefully the courier work will become more frequent in the new year, so I should have a steady income to repair/maintain a half decent Mini. I'm not after a limited edition concours model, just something that runs and can be worked on. I'm not serious about buying yet, but I'd like something to aim for and to see what prices are like. :- It's all very well saying "look in classifieds" but I don't really know what I'm looking for and prices are all over the place for the different models.

Cheers,

James

Welcome! For £2000 you should easily be able to find a pretty good condition car. Possibly one thats already got a fair few modifications too!
